The tree's bark glows ivory in the twilight, and the soft leaves rustle in the breeze. The Alabaster Tree stands above the other trees, and by some other mystique has set itself apart. It grows alone in a clearing, it's peers a respectful distance away and quietly glows in the approaching moonlight.

A waze off from the tree, noises could be heard, and the faint glow of light could be seen in the darkness. What appeared to be the shadow of a lone man could be seen if one began to approach the light. His long thick, almost vine-ish, hair drooped down to his back, as he appeared to be holding something infront of him. A great dark green blanket covered his back and shoulders as he huddled for warmth.

The tree shivered in the night, as if cold. Slowly its quivering increased, until the tree's roots shook themselves free from the earth. The branches thrashed as the ivory trunk buckled and fell. The roots curled and burned, the grass surrounding the ripped earth set on fire, and out from the flames and pit of the roots climbed a dirty, ragged man.

The green man's head twitched up as he heard the crashing, and the light infront of him dimmed down. His head turned into the direction of the sounds, and a pair of glowing beady eyes peered also over each shoulder. "whuzzat?" came a high pitched voice behind the blue eyes. "I dunno. Lezz check it out" said a higher voice from the red eyes. "Quiet my friends" The man said in a deeper tone.
He stood up, and a pair of small, almost doll like, figures floated up to his shoulders, each with a pair of wings, see through, almost like the skeleton of an x-ray fish. The sat on his shoulders as he slowly made his way towards the burning tree.

Asmoseus clawed himself out from the burning pit, which healed into smooth earth as soon as he was free of it. The tree stayed aflame; its roots and light-wood smoldering to a charred black. The leaves curled and fell, lighting more grass on fire.
He lay panting on the ground until most of the tree had been consumed, or the fire had run out. He rolled his cracked tongue over his (likewise) lips and pushed himself to his feet.
He would get back.

Rolland slowly approached the enflamed tree, and watched the man emerge from the ground. His golden brown eyes sparkled in the night, the light reflecting off the flames of the tree. He could tell that this was an abnormal flame, almost deamonic.
The two small fey hovered over his head, the red eyed one clinging to its brother, whimpering in fear. "I don't like this Ark" Ayen whispered in her high pitched voice. They slowly followed Rolland as he approached the char burnt clearing.

It didn't smell human.... or elvan...it smelled of wood and forest; wood and forest didn't move like that. Asmodeus spun around, ready to use energy he didn't posses, until he saw the Dryad and two small orbs hovering above it. He didn't snarl, or even sneer. "Good evening." he said.

Rolland nodded his head in acknowledgement."Good evening to you too" He observed the surrounding area, watching the last of the wood be consumed to cinders, and bits of grass burnt. He gave a sigh, and looked back to his newly found aquaintence. "What manner of man are you? For I know you are not man of this world. This fire....its not natural, much too intense for its own good" He raised a hand, and a small burst of wind shot out, extinguishing what was left of the burning flames."This....Hellfire....It's where your from isn't it? I've heard legends from my elders, but never thought that /that/ kind of place could actually exist."
Ark and Ayen, hovered overhead, within earshot. "What's Rolly talking about?" Ark asked his sister. "I dunno, buts its got something to have something to do with that flaming man" Ayen muttered, her red eyes keenly locked on Asmodeus.

"I am man of manners." He said."From a place that no longer welcomes me as one of it's denizens." Standing alone in tatters, he had both the look of a dirty mongrel and a king. His smile was friendly and open, but on the word "denizens" it changed- for just a second- to something unearthly. "I often go by the name Asmodeus," he said, open again."and I regret any harm my entrance may have caused; just know it was not of my choosing. What are you... and your companions called?" His smile never seemed fake, not for a moment.

Rolland extended a hand to the man, the simplist and most friendly of introductions."To be exiled from one's place can be both a great freedom, and a great regret. It's what we do to find our new place that shows strength" Rolland to see through the mans image, and see the peace behind the smile. He felt no fear of this man, and had no reason to show any hostility. "My name is Rolland of the Yew. I am a dryad, a son of nature. I have lived long days and learned much of this world. Your...entrance, can be forgiven. The passing of nature comes and goes with time.
He gave a nod of his head in the direction of the two fey, who had dashed to an above tree branch when Rolland had approached Asmodeus."These young companions of mine are twin of the Atlas fey. The blue glowing one is the beautifull Ayen, and the red one is her protective, yet valliant brother, Ark. They are harmless..."He said, then gave a raise of the eyebrow and a smirk,"...if you're in their good books" He looked over to the two fey and gave them a call."Come here you two, and give proper introductions!"
Ayen and Ark, sensing no danger from Rolland, fluttered over to their friend, their wings filling with color and sparkling, Ayen's an Icy blue, Ark's a feiry red. They stopped mid air in between Rolland and Asmodeus. Ayen gave a young ladies curtsy, and Ark a most gentlemanly bow. "Our pleasure to meet you sir" Ayen said, in a slightly intimidated, yet less frightened than earlier, tone.

"It is only a blessing until they find out I am still alive." He responded with a wry smile.
He greeted the Pixies politely, the back of his mind knowing what it would be like to pop them like grapes between his teeth. The skin would resist and then burst with fluid, and the magic in their blood would sate him. Only politeness kept him from reaching for the Dryad's "companions".
He looked down at the tatters of his robes in something obviously akin to dismay. He then looked imploringly at Rolland.
"I don't suppose a tailor could be found anywhere near here, could they?" he asked."In fact, I very much doubt any sort of civilization could be found anywhere near here."

Ayen and Ark, could sense the distinct hostility behind the smile, and returned, hastily, to Rolland's shoulders. Rolland gave a smirk."Civilization might be difficult to find in a place like this, if you don't know where to look" He pointed in the direction into some deep brush."Through the forestry and brush, you'll come to a great mountain range. There you will find Aers City, the grand Aerite capital of this land. No matter what you are looking for, you can find it there. I can take you there if you'd like, as the Capital is my current destination anyways"

"I would be much obliged." said the Demon with a smile.
He paused for a moment, as if thinking, before a rather formal robe suddenly rested on his shoulders.
"This will do for now, I suppose." he said with a weary sigh."lead on, Rolland.I have no idea where we're going."

Rolland gave a smirk, and looked to the sky, now a lighter purple with hints of orange peaking.
"The dawn approaches. That will allow swift and peacefull travel. As long as any of your 'friends' decide not to interfere."
He closed his eyes for a minute, allowing his surrounding to sink into his senses. Once they opened, he turned to face a path of trees, leading North.
"The forest tells me that the mountains are this way. If memory holds true, the capitol is located within the mountain range."
He began to walk down the path, through the forestry, as Ayen and Ark floated, maybe a meter off of the group on either side, fluttering through the trees, watching for possible ambush.

The sun crested over the mountain as the reached it's foot. Cleared land lent a view to farmsteads and barns between green crop and narrow roads that cut sharply into the mountain. Further up a cobble stoned city was visible.
Slowly as they ascended, Asmodeus closed the gap between himself and the Dryad.
