Name: Nealai Moonvale
Gender: Male
Race: Moon Elf
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Age: 40 years [Mid-teens]
Appearance: Indigo black hair at shoulder length, choppy. Black eyes. Slender, dons traditional hunting outfit [white, long pointed sleeves, black tunic with silver embroidery, navy modified great coat (with overlapping lapels) hemmed with scriptures, durable brown trousers, light pointed leather boots, folded head band, accessory belt.]
Personality: Extremely prideful of his tribe to a fault. He believes the ways of his tribe is flawless and will not stand for insults against them as well as to his clan. He is rather insecure because his branch of the family is related through blood although they are considered legitmate family members. He also has an inferiority complex because he isn't talented at the two most exalted professions of our tribe, Stargazing and Hunting. While he will readily defend a friend of his regardless of race and gender, he is still blatantly prejudice when it comes to the overall picture and tends to give bad impressions to people unintentionally. His imitations of his hero at being aloof and leader-like falls short every time.
Abilities: Basic survival spells [warming spells, light conjuring, flame conjuring, compulsory healing, etc.], seeking spell [limitations of range and the mark must be placed on the target], sneaking spell [erases subtle sounds like breathing], and basic pike techniques.[BOY SCOUT SKILLS, hurrr.*ties knots*]
Family: Nico, sister. Mirrold, cousin and first born of clan. Mother and Father. Members of the Moonvale clan.
History:[RECOMMENDED THAT THE TRIBE HISTORY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST IS READ FIRST.] Nealai is the second born of a branch of the Moonvales [the leading clan of the Moon Elves]. His great-grandmother was ritually bound to the tribe after her husband was killed in a hunting circle. She and her unborn child were entrusted to her husband's best friend, a Moonvale, during his final moments. In his childhood Nealai made friends with a daylight Crow by the name of Scree who sometimes stayed up at night. After they were attacked by other daylight creatures, Scree was killed and Nealai in his shock was tailored into a faithful clansmen. His hair was cut short during the struggle so he had to live his life from then until hunting age being picked on by others. Later in life he ends up joining the hunting circle his cousin Mirrold is in. Tired of his failures and blunders, the circle abandons him and he is picked up and enslaved by Ivan, an extreme activist against government [in short, an anarchist]. From then on, he fights to survive, find ways to escape, and starts questioning his own conscience as Ivan feeds him more and more information of how the world truly works.
Weapons: Trainee's Iron Pike, butterfly knife, short dagger.
Quote:"Tradition, Honour. That's all I have left. Are you that much of a bastard to take that away from me too?"
Tribe History: The Moon Elves are a branch of normal elves who seceded from a elven kingdom. These elves were the bulk of the military and left under the command of a General who nearly threatened the monarch's position but settled with moving him and his supporters to an undisturbed plot of land, a valley surrounded by mountains.[The kingdom in question either ceased to exist or was assimilated into another.] Moon elves do not vary from normal elves except for having adapted to reversing their sleeping pattern [awake at night, sleeping during the day],their obsessive worship of Mother Moon, and great dislike for daylight creatures and daylight itself.
As far as anything recorded, there is only one tribe of Moon Elves [who call themselves as such] which is generally small and very likely going into recession. The community has a strict and nearly closed trade system with the outside world. The two most distinguished occupations are Stargazing and Hunting. Hunting circles also take on the task contacting other elven tribes to maintain neutrality in diplomatic ties.
Moon Elves are characteristically demure and impersonal to people outside of their own clan. They generally have dark hair colours [indigo, black, dark brown, shades of gray] and eye colour. Only females have milky coloured eyes [usually a sign of a stargazer]. Long hair is something they pride in as they have stunted hair growth. Cutting of the hair [to shoulder length] is part of initiation into a hunting circle. Only elders and hunting circle men may keep their facial hair. Moon Elves, that is the hunting circles, can be recognized by the somewhat impractical navy great coats their ancestors were known for [as they were once part of the military]. Weaponry is generally of the spear variety [pikes, partisans, javelins] and polearms to a lesser extent [it is questionable if this is for appearances only to foreign dignitaries or for actual hunting because it seems impractical]. Bowguns are seen to be used for hunting.
