Pixies– Doll sized and usually humanoid; Pixies are winged fairies that come in many shapes and colours. Pixies tend to be a happy but flighty folk. They can be a menace when angered. Usually found living in small groups, in flower gardens, forests or abandoned buildings. Urban pixies tend to be more crule and sadistic than Rural ones.
Dryads– Dryads are tree spirits, who’s wellbeing is directly linked to that of their trees and vice versa. Fully humanoid, their skin is usually some shade of green or brown. Dryads are peaceful people.
Kelpies– Kelpies are freshwater relatives of Merpeople. Markedly more dangerous than Merpeople, there are two types of Kelpies.
The River Kelpies are all female and have the ability to shape-shift from a beautiful young women into horses with a mane of bulrushes, and glowing eyes. These Kelpies lure young men into the water, where they drown and eat them.
The Lake Kelpies have more of a comunity sense than their River-dwelling cousins and have both male and female gender. These people have the ability to be fully human-looking, as well as vicious humanoid lake monsters. Lake Kelpies will also eat sentient races, but can choose not to as they also eat lake plants, bugs and fish.
Shades– Shades are halfway between spirits and physical beings. They are humanoid loners, and don’t usually live in any sort of group, either among their own kind or others. Shades are characterized by light hair, dusky skin and the habit of fading from sight before onlooker’s very eyes, leaving a disembodied voice behind. Often they cannot control this. Shades have a weakness to sunlight, so live in the darker areas of Aers.
