Startled by the voice, the half-dragon whirled around - stumbling in the process - and regarded the other for a moment, before grinning.
"Xypha," she replied,"And I wouldn't call that troll-head lovely, even if it wasn't in the state is currently in."
Xypha walked towards Raven a bit, before and pausing for a moment, as if thinking. After a few moments she asked "Why would you want an troll shrunken head? If you don't mind me asking."

"Oh, Trolls' skin is an active ingredient in so many rune paints." she said,"Considering they always combust a few minutes after death the skin is so hard to find, too!"
The corpse promptly burst into unattractively brown flames.
"See?"

One day, 6 hours, 24 minutes, 18 seconds. Wandering the Labrynth had become such a bore. He looked down at the 3 rows of bright silver rings around his chest, and gave a sigh. Messing with some local alchemists got him into a little trouble, and had him wound up with a magic brace, making him unable to summon his wings, and he so wished he could fly out, would save him hours on end of meaningless meandering.
As he was about to turn a corner, the pugnet stench of burning flesh caught his nostrals. He peaked around the corner, and saw the group of creatures. He recognized one as a half dragon from her broken wing, but the other seemed new to him. He could sense some form of ... darkness about her, but not some kind of evil.
That pugnet smell that had reached his nose had to be nothing more than that burning corpse that laid before those two. Twas either orc...or upon second take, troll.

Nodding, although not quite understanding, Xypha turned her head to look at the burning troll corpse, and covered her nose at the pungent smell it was giving off. Turning back to Raven, she asked,"Perhaps we should move somewhere else? The smell of this thing is quite disgusting."

"Those are very nasty alchemic bands," Raven said, looking past the purple half dragon."Why don't you stop hiding behind that corner? Ben doesn't bite."
She held up the still dazed head, which squeaked feebly at being moved, but soon resigned itself to being shown off like some deranged trophy. Without waiting for an answer she stuffed Ben back into her satchel and strode around the corner.
"My name's Raven, by the way, and this is Xypha. It's nice to meet you."

Xypha peered at the corner for a moment before following Raven. As she aproached the corner, she noticed the other standing there. Peering curiously at him, she wondered just what those rings on on him were. She had heard what Raven had called them, but she was unsure of what they did. Tilting her head to one side, she wondered if it would be too rude to ask.

Malgaras held his breath as the two beings approached him. He looked both of them down, and stepped out from around the corner.
"You seem to know your alchemy very well" he spoke up at the tall black haired female."My name, or at least, the name I was given, is Malgaras. I've been...stuck, in this maze for the last day and a bit. Lets just say....alchemists dont like me...or other certain things", he added with a nervous smirk.
He gave sigh and puffed out his chest, making the silver bands fully viewable.
"You two wouldn't have any idea how I might be able to break free of these blasted things? My other...'abilities' dont seem to have much of an effect"

"Troll's skin would have been great for that."
Raven glanced passively at the smoldering remains staining the ground.
"Oh well." She chirped, hovering her fingers over the bands."Hmm... I shouldn't touch those. They could burn my skin clean off! Look at that alchemy. Old stuff. Anyway, who's for getting out of here?"
She hummed as she took a wall hook and then a leash from her satchel, followed by a squirming shrunken head. Despite it's protests, she screwed the hook into the top of the head and attached the leash.
"There you go, Ben! Walkies! Now, lets go home!"
Ben glanced miserably at the half dragons before allowing himself to be dragged along by his mistress.

Xypha, after a few moments, stirred out of her thoughts - of which no longer had to do with those alchemic bands,- and peered at the one with them (when she did, she was reminded of her question), before peering after Raven. Thinking for a moment, she decided to ask Raven about them.
Catching up to Raven,- and wincing as she jostled her broken wing - Xypha asked,"What, exactly, where those - what did you call them? Alchemic bands?- on his chest?"

"Oh, those." she answered."They look like they're made of silver and pewter. Silver is anti-demonic when alchemized properly, and pewter is even worse! They must really hurt!'Course half dragons are a lot different than Demons, so maybe no as much. I can't tell what symbols were used because they disappear when the alchemy ritual is over, though a bound pentagram is probably one of them. They're used for binding."
Raven tugged at Ben's leash. Guiltily, he stopped licking the wall and continued to hop along.
"Oh!"
To the misfortune of anyone walking directly behind her, the demon stopped abruptly to dump the entire contents of her shoulder bag onto the ground. Chalks of many colours, a wooden lunch-box, a pressed black rose, an ornate ivory horn, with what looked like ashy hand prints on it; a bag of kibbles, a book, a floppy draw-string bag and a short blackened claw scattered across the passage floor.
"There it is!" she said, picking up the claw."This could probably break some bands, Malgaras."

Xypha, who had been standing behind Raven, jumped back (wincing, as she jostled her wing once again) to avoid all the stuff that fell out of her shoulder bag.
Staring at the stuff that fell out of the bag for a moment, Xypha debated on whether or not to pick something up at inspect it. The small, rational part of her told her some of it could be dangerous in someway, but most of her - which consisted of curiousity and who-knows-what-else - didn't care about any possible danger.
Shrugging to herself, Xypha picked up the book and peered curiously at it before opening it to a page chosen at random.

The book immediately started screaming.
"IT'S NOT NICE TO TOUCH OTHER PEOPLE'S BOOKS. WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING ME? I DIDN'T CONSENT TO THIS. RAPE! RAPE! RAPE!"
As the book tapered off into incomprehensible shrieks Raven dropped the claw.
"Oh no; silly diary." she said as she snatched the hysterical book from the half dragon's hand.

Xypha could only stare at the book, her face somehow displaying both shock and laughter.
Blinking a few times, she descended into a fit of giggling (the shock wearing off), and after a few moments, managed to choke out the words,"What the hell was that?"

"Oh, it's a diary that's been passed down from a few generations back. It screams whenever someone without my family's bloodline opens it. Silly thing."
She shoved the book back into her shoulder bag, and started gathering up the rest of it's strewn contents. The sooty ivory horn was the first in the bag, followed by the chalk, drawstring bag and everything else save for the claw.
The claw sat burnt and forlorn at the second half dragon's feet.

Malgaras tapped at one of the 3 bands on his chest and glared at them."No clue what they're made of, or what the ritual was. Was out cold for most of it. All I know is that those Alchemists sure know how to piss a guy off"
The elven half-dragon walked over and picked up the claw, and stared at it, raising an eyebrow with curiosity, and doubt. "What am I supposed to do with it? eat it? scratch my back? Alchemy isn't my strong point remember. It disagrees with me. A lot."
Malgaras opened the left side of his vest, revealing the rest of the bands. They all had small distinct knife scratches digging at the metal."This alone took me a week, and even with a sharpend knife"
