Away from any detectable entrance to the Crystal walls, a dark haired woman stood less than half their height, adding shining scratches to the runes on the cloudy barrier with a scythe. The weapon reached halfway up the wall, just barely touching it. The woman underneath stood on tiptoes and strained to reach just a bit higher.
Almost sarcastically the scythe extended itself the extra centimeter and finished the curly stroke into the translucent stone. She muttered something under her breath and it shrank to fit on the small chain around her neck that was almost invisible over the delicate chain mail on her chest.
The mail covered a generic shirt, and black leather extended down her legs, ending in boots of a questionable substance.
She put her hand on a space on the wall and furrowed her brow.

He looked to be taking a casual stroll, a pleasant tune escaped in whistles from light pink lips. His hands were behind his back, looking quite defenseless and...casual. He looked a bit odd and out of place with the things around him. What in the world was he doing here?
A man had to take a nice little stroll every now and then, it got rather hot on his volcano. It was having temper tantrums and the earthquakes weren't good while you were trying to read some old literature. He had got sick of it so he left after giving a rock a nice swift kick and reprimanding it. It didn't seem to like that. the man had gotten a nice little quake as he walked out. He had somehow ended up around here. He had let his bare feet take him wherever they willed.
A slight breeze blew striking red bangs from his narrow face, hands that had been behind his back were now playing with the long braid over the front of his shoulder for he was rather bored. His feet had stopped. Since when was there a wall here? he raised a perfect brow and looked at it. It looked strong and it was high. He was a lazy man so he didn't feel like flying up high to see what was on the other side. He took to walking around to look of someone who knew.(Which wasn't that much fun either).
"Oh. Well there is someone here." he tilted his head when he saw the extremely tall person that was as tall as him, maybe taller."Excuse me, my fine charming lady. Would you mind telling me what this.. thingie happens to be?"

Raven's head turned.
"Oh," she said."It's a wall."
Naturally, she would have been just a bit taller than the man, but in her hiking boots his eyes came level to her chin. her mind echoed "half dragon" as she scanned him up and down.
"Anethema and I will be going, then."
With a cheery wave the woman started off along the wall. She tucked her necklace into her shirt and ran her hand across the runes on the wall as she walked away.

"A wall.." he repeated after she had said it and he frowned at it, eyebrows drawn together. He rapped his girlish knuckles against it and took a step back, stroking his chin. He looked just in time to see the girl leave. Well that wasn't very nice.
"Hey there, wait one moment." he said, voice airy."What's the rush?" he followed her along the wall."I didn't really mean what is this." he gestured to the large wall."I know it's a wall. Anyone would know it's a wall.. but is... walling? What's inside? Do you know?" he dragged his black claws along the wall, mimicking her. Truth be told, seeing another face was quite the pleasure. He didn't get much up on an old mountain. He was a social being and he longed for a conversation.
"Since when were there two of you?"

His claws didn't scratch the crystal surface as Raven's scythe had, and she turned again as he followed her. Her eyes were wide and her eyebrows raised as she said,
"The Labyrinth, all sorts of nasty things live in there.... they're supposed to have some sort of city near the middle... but you'd have to be pretty dumb to try that!"
She smiled at the half dragon.
"Anethema and I," she held up her scythe pendant,"are just happy we came across that broken rune... the dead should stay where they are."
She continued to walk until she came across a leather carry-bag. Crouching down, she unbuttoned it's flap and rooted around inside. Something small and round fell onto to grass beside her feet.
"Oh, Ben, you silly head. Get back in the bag."
The thing squirmed and squeaked in protest, then wriggled out of the woman's hands. Mousy brown hair bumped up and down as it bounced to Luca's feet. It looked up, face perpetually twisted in a look of horror. A shrunken head.
"Ben!" said Raven. She picked it up and stuffed it in her bag."Sorry," she said ,"Ben is a nuisance."

A labyrinth? Nasty things inside? Dumb enough to try? This sounded like fun! The half dragon rarely got out to do anything, much less go through a haunted labyrinth with all sorts of creepy things. He smiled mischievously as he looked at the wall, tapping his chin once again. Luca was dumb enough to try and go in there. He had rarely ever went for any kind of adventure but this sounded like his kind of thing.
"Oh?" he smiled and looked at the mousy brown haired creature."I've never seen one of those before, but then again.. in a volcano.. you rarely ever see anything..." he tilted his red head."What is that thing called, my lady? and while I'm at it--how rude and rare of me to forget my manners." he tsk'd himself and bent over in a sweeping bow."Who might you be?" he looked up with a pleasant smile."and is there any more you could tell me about this?" he rapped against the wall yet again."I have a nerve to go in and have a little bit of fun and exploration. You don't find much on a volcano." he let out a dramatic sigh and pushed the long braid over his shoulder, the striking red hair brushed the ground.

"Manners.... yes..."
Raven struggled with the button of her bag, as Ben continued to protest his confinement. She looked up again after successfully trapping the squirming head.
"M'Raven." She said, holding out a hand."Why would you wanna go in there? Lower Demons and the undead are no fun."

He bowed again, gesturing to himself with long slender fingers."I am Luca. I rule the Volcanos way way over yonder." he gestured with his head in the general direction of west. Odd eyes never leaving her face, only in the case to glance at the looming wall.
Again, he raised a perfect red brow and a slow, lazy smile spread over his lips."Well, why not? What if there are more than lower demons in there. I'm assuming you've never been in here. I'm a big fan of surprises. Maybe we'll find some rare sword or some kind of jewel.. Ah.. I am also a fan of jewels as well. They wouldn't have these large walls if there wasn't something worth some interest behind a turn in the labyrinth. My curiosity is sparked. So.. my dear. Why not join me? Company is also something I like."

The woman's lilac eyes turned incredulous.
"You don't read runes, do you? This one," she said, pointing at the curly inscription on the wall,"means 'gods'. It's used as a setter for the powers it's binding... and this variation is crazy! I've never seen someone do that and not die!I can't do that!...actually now that I think about it the person who wrote that probably did die... the way these things work, it was probably made by a lot of slaves... their vengeful ghosts are probably haunting the outer passages. Ohhh, that means the runes probably get stronger as they go in... aah, I don't envy the one stuck in there."
The slanted rune resembled an intricate 'F', and stood solemnly glittering on the clouded surface.
"I would really rather go home." said Raven.

Luca set his light lips into a firm pout as he listened to her speech, half listening and.. half not. There had to be something hidden in there and Luca was a collector of sorts. Besides, vengeful ghosts were always fun to hang around.
"Hmm.. sounds kind of fun. I still think you should come with me." he started to walk along the wall."Because I'm going in. Miss Raven, would you really leave a poor and innocent half-dragon to go in here alone?" he let out another dramatic sigh as he took a few steps toward her."Just think. It's a wonderful opportunity to get to know someone and maybe run from a few little ghosties. How much fun is that?" well it didn't really sound fun.
"I can assure you. I'm a pleasure to have as company. I'll make conversation worth your while if you accompany me. Just a little ways.. and if we get bored or tired.." he stopped and in a short, bright transition black and red wings appeared on his back."I could always fly us out of there."

"I would really rather go home," chirped Raven,"I-Ben!"
The head had squirmed out of it's leather enclosure and bounced past a turn in the wall. With a squawk the last wisps of his hair disappeared around the bend.
"Ben!" Raven screeched, as she sprinted after him,"Ben!"
Around the bend she was just in time to catch another squawk and glimpse of mousy hair as it fluttered into the Labyrinth. Another screech echoed about the crystal walls, leaking out into the air outside them. Without a word, Raven Raced after him.

Luca watched the entire scene unfold. It seemed to play right into his favor. He rather much liked Ben now. Even if he--it..or.. whatever it was.. was extremely creepy looking. But then again, to each his own. He smiled happily.
"Great! I'm glad we see it my way!" he put his hands behind his head and walked into the labyrinth, following after Raven and the echo of the screeches. Ohh~ How exciting! It didn't really get his blood going like he wished it did but it was enough to actual have interest in turning the corner."Wait for me Darling. What's the point of company if you get separated?"
Luca kept his senses up and aware. He liked surprises.. but he wasn't fond of sneak attacks. He'd rather keep those to an utter minimum of zero."I hope this little labyrinth doesn't let me down~ Ohohoho~"

Raven ignored the half-dragon completely.
"BEN!" she screamed, running after the shrunken head.
Without regard for direction, the woman raced after her pet. Left, right, right, left.... far too many twists and corners to count. The crystal wall clouded and shimmered with runes that glowed as Raven passed them, only to fade again as she departed.
"Beeeen!" she shouted as she scooped him up by his hair."Ben, you bad head! You-"
She cut off at the gruesome sight before her.

There was dead, highly mutilated creature on on the ground. It's bloody head laying a few feet from what appeared to be it's body. It's body - if it could be called that anymore - was torn and bloody, claw marks and fang marks evident on it. One part of it was also ripped open, spilling it's guts out, somewhat. Oh, and a hind leg was torn off also, and seemed to be missing.
However, this gruesome sight also had something comical about it. A person - who appeared to be a half-dragon, due to light-purple scaled wings (one hung limp, possibly broken) and tail - was poking at it. If one got close enough, they would be able to hear her muttering somethings along the lines of "It was your own fault, sneaking up on me." and "It was your fault you know, still going after me even when I shifted into my true form."

Raven cleared her throat audibly. After a second of silence she waved cheerfully at the half dragon, forgetting the shrunken head in her grasp. Remembering Ben, she stopped waving with her right hand, and switched to animatedly flailing her other, while cradling the cross-eyed Ben in her arm.
"Hello." she said,"What a lovely troll-head you have there. It's too bad I don't have any of my tanning equipment with me; it would have made a wonderful shrunken head. My name is Raven, what are you called?"
